The world is a crazy place right now.
We could all use the reminder that we are loved
& we are not alone.
National Night Out is a great event for realizing that we are not alone & for sharing love with our neighbors, but this year was a bit different from past years.
The streets weren’t flooded with people.
There was no loud music filling the air from other get-togethers going on.
There must have been other people still doing National Night Out, but Park Avenue seemed very quiet…
…Except for three houses toward the middle of the block.
Even during this pandemic, we wanted to spread these thoughts to anyone who might walk by: You are loved. You are not alone.
We brought chairs and crafts and games out to the front yard and Emily, with her mask and gloves and smiling eyes, was ready to serve a tasty treat to anyone who stopped by.
And what could spread more joy than a handful of adults and children hula-hooping the evening away, giant bubbles, & glitter-covered pumpkins? You know the JOY of glitter is hard to get rid of, even when you try!
