Understanding monthly costs

Genesis talks about “Shared Contribution” not ‘rent’ as this is not a rental situation, You are paying a contribution to the Genesis 501c3 non-profit and are participating in the non-profit as a member. Housing is provided to residential members.

Genesis non-profit rents the buildings, from a landlord, at a lower rate in exchange for Genesis maintaining the buildings. Maintenance activities can include anything from Mowing the yard and shoveling snow to larger remodel projects.

Shared contributions are adjusted annually in March of the year based on previous years expenses and expected cost changes.

The dark yellow amount below is to help you compare Genesis Costs to other living situations.

For example, If your shared contribution is $630 a month, and live in a house with common pantry (Shared Groceries), and you help with maintenance (shovel sidewalks, mow grass, etc.) you pay the amount in Green monthly. Your monthly amount will be different if you don’t assist with maintenance or if the building your in doesn’t share groceries.

GREENHOUSE

Garden Level large room private bath:
$1025 before $100 maintenance credit,
(currently used for Airbnb)

2nd floor small rooms (2-rooms):
$650 before $100 maintenance credit,

2nd floor large rooms (2-rooms):
$730 before $100 maintenance credit,

2nd floor master:
$835 before $100 maintenance credit,

3rd floor large rooms (3-rooms):
$730 before $100 maintenance credit,

Notes:
- There are limited off street spaces which are $15 per month per parking space.
- We review our budget yearly in February, Shared Contributions will change at that time effective March.
- Children under 18 receive maintance credit.
- Married couples or roommates sharing a room pay the cost for the room + $230/month, There is a credit for each person’s maintenance hours.
